Workplace Learning Opportunities

SEDA college is going to be the newest addition to the outdoor education fold, launching an Outdoor Ed program next year.

SEDA College is an Independent Secondary School that provides a unique approach to education by involving its students in industry all the way through their time at the college.  Learning is not restricted to the classroom.

SEDA has 550+ students in programs across the Perth metropolitan and Bunbury areas.  The college believes it is important for students to develop employability skills during their time in the program. This ensures that students can successfully transition into the workforce after their studies. Through industry placement and workplace learning, students are given the opportunity to work in a range of organisations and experience different work roles. This allows students to develop their work skills and identify where their future interests may lie. It also provides invaluable experience for students and assists them when applying for future work or further study.

Students are timetabled to complete workplace learning one day per week.  The Year 12’s will begin the WPL program in the week starting February 12th 2024, while the Year 11 cohort will begin the week starting February 26th 2024

Benefits to workplace organisations include:

  • providing access to a pool of future paid casual or part-time workers.
  • enabling potential recruitment of new employees who can be immediately productive.
  • developing the training and supervisory skills of employees who induct, train and/or evaluate students.
